LIBERTY OUTPOST OFFICE

NEED FOR SERVICES

Nationally, an estimated 17 Veterans die by suicide every day. Pennsylvania is home to more than 700,000 Veterans, ranking among the top five states by Veteran population. According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Veteran suicide rate in Pennsylvania surpasses the national average—and rural counties report significantly limited access to trauma-informed care. Nearly 50% of Veterans with mental health concerns go untreated due to stigma, lack of access, or ineffective traditional services.

Our first satellite office, Liberty Outpost directly addresses these barriers by offering free, Veteran-designed programming that is local, flexible, and built on trust.

In its first year, Liberty Outpost aims to serve at least 50 Veterans and their families through a combination of in-person and virtual programming. As outreach expands, we anticipate annual service capacity to scale toward 75–100 unique participants, with a strong emphasis on continuity of care and family inclusion.
